Exploring EFL Pre-Service Teachers' Mentoring Process and The Challenges in Their Practicum

This study examined pre-service teachers’ mentoring processes and challenges. The interview protocol was used to collect qualitative data. Five teachers were investigated. Pre-service experienced different processes. five frequency, content, support, feedback varied. Most mentored on a regular basis. Mentoring usually occurs before after the teaching practice. content of covers pedagogy, materials, limited technology for teaching. They faced issues: lack feedback, mentee exploitation, having compelled emulate mentor’s style, no guidance, time mentoring. findings indicate need course or manual mentor provide quality mentoring.
